~ Holdenhurst Village remembered in times gone by ~

The Lych Gate & Church - Date unknown.
An early 'Village Green'. On the left are 'Elm Cottages' c1914 and on the right is the original property which was demolished to make way for the present day 'Three Elms'. - Date unknown.
Holdenhurst Farm pictured from the north of the lane now named Holdenhurst Road. In the background can be seen the two chimneys aloft 'Elm Cottages', whilst St John's Church remains hidden by the white, thatched Holdenhurst Farmhouse on the right, with Manor Farms 'Dairyman's Cottage' on the left. In the centre lies 'Manor Farmhouse' which is now where the cottages 24 & 25 now stand. Apart from 'Elm Cottages' all the properties within this photograph are sadly no longer standing. - Date unknown.
